Prioritising Your Loved Ones

March 4, 2024

It could take just one unexpected event to disrupt life as you know it. Take Adnan, he was working full-time, supporting his growing family, while his pregnant wife cared for their two children at home. Living on one income, Adnan's family depended on him to provide for them. However, when his wife's pregnancy became high-risk, she was bedridden.

Adnan had no choice but to stay home and care for the children while his wife recovered. Their baby was delivered via emergency C-section, and Adnan's wife needed to remain on bed rest until she was well enough to care for herself and the family.

Unable to work for weeks, Adnan found that rent, bills, groceries, and other expenses were quickly accumulating. He sought assistance from family after using up all his savings. When their baby was born, Adnan used the gift vouchers given by friends and family to purchase basic necessities for the family. However, his debts continued to accumulate, and he urgently needed help.

A friend referred Adnan to apply to NZF for assistance. After assessment, we found that he was eligible for Zakat and was assisted with paying off his debts, covering his rent, and providing groceries for the family.

Adnan is due to start work in the next two weeks, as his wife is recovering well, Alhamdulillah. Your local Zakat in action eased the challenges they were facing as a family, allowing him to focus on caring for his family instead of worrying about their financial situation.
