Noman is a 69-year-old man from overseas now living in Australia with his wife and teenage son. despite being an Australian citizen, Noman's limited English skills make it difficult for him to navigate the complex systems of financial assistance available to him. When he recently suffered a stroke and was admitted to the hospital, Noman's financial situation only became more precarious.
Although Noman had been receiving food boxes, he had not been able to get the financial assistance he needed to cover overdue bills and rent payments, as well as to purchase of halal meat. That's when Noman reached out to us at the National Zakat Foundation, hoping we would be able to provide some much-needed assistance.
With the help of local Zakat, we were able to provide Noman with the assistance he needed to pay his overdue bills and rent, giving him peace of mind and preventing him from being evicted from his home. As a part of his religious and cultural identity, we also ensured that Noman had access to halal meat and provided an interpreter to make sure that he felt confident in communicating his needs to us. Noman and his family expressed their deep gratitude for the help that they received, and we are honored to be able to support them during this difficult time.
If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, please reach out to us.
