From Silence to Support

February 18, 2025

After months of studying Islam, Samuel finally took the life-changing step of embracing his faith. The moment he declared his Shahada, the masjid erupted with Takbeer—voices filled with joy and encouragement. The energy was electric, the smiles infectious. But when Samuel returned home, he was met with silence.

As his first Ramadan approached, he imagined it would be a time of community and connection, surrounded by the same warmth he had felt on the day of his Shahada. Instead, he found himself breaking his fast alone, longing for companionship and guidance. The journey into his new faith was exciting, yet isolating.

Still eager to learn and grow, Samuel reached out to us at NZF. He needed support, not just spiritually but socially. With limited funds, he couldn’t afford to attend community iftars in his area—events that could help him build meaningful connections with fellow Muslims.

Thanks to your Zakat, Samuel was able to attend these gatherings, where he met new Muslims navigating the same journey. Through NZF, he was also connected with a local organisation that offers ongoing Islamic classes, providing him with the knowledge and sense of belonging he was searching for.

Your generosity helped Samuel transition from isolation to integration, ensuring that no new Muslim walks their journey alone.
