Deciding to change after a life of addiction

November 1, 2022

Qasim had a stable upbringing with loving parents and siblings. There were no real problems during his childhood. What started as recreational drug use with friends occasionally, turned into a 30-year addiction.

Years of substance abuse impacted Qasim’s mental health and physical wellbeing. His finances were going towards supporting his drug addiction. He decided he had enough of wasting his life away and wanted to change for the better. With the help of his family, Qasim has been sober for 6 months now, he lives with his brother who helps keep him on track.

Qasim reached out to NZF for financial assistance and help in getting him rehab treatment for his health issues from the prolonged drug use. We at NZF financially supported Qasim towards his goals for rehabilitation.
